Crystal Lowe was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and during her adolescent years, she and her family moved away from Vancouver for a short period of time to Hong Kong where she became fluent in Cantonese.
Crystal started off her career as a model and was quite successful. She won several modeling competitions, had been featured as a centerfold and cover model for numerous magazines, and was a model for the video-games ‘Need for Speed 2004’ and ‘Fight Night 2004’, but acting has always been her passion. Her first introduction was at the age of five where she performed in plays for the church Sunday school program that her mother taught. Her mother encouraged her at the time; telling her that she was a terribly shy child and she didn’t want Crystal to have the same experience as she did.
As soon as Crystal got on stage, she didn’t want to get off; she loved it. From then on, Crystal begged her mother to put her back into acting, but she did only to pull her back out, saying that she felt that the competitive nature of the business was not healthy for a young Crystal. So Crystal had to wait until her mother couldn’t take her begging no more and at the age of fifteen, Crystal got her wish; her mother realized that Crystal wasn’t into acting for the short-term but for the long term.
Crystal’s first professional role was as a guest star on ‘Stargate’. From there, she has had roles in ‘Final Destination 3’, ‘Snakes on a Plane’, ‘Scary Movie 4’, ‘The L-Word’, ‘Da Vinci’s Inquest,’ ‘Flight 121’, ‘Insomnia’, ‘The Collector ‘, 'The Secret Society’ for Lifetime TV and the lead in ‘Black Christmas’, ‘That One Night’ and ‘Wrong Turn 2’.
Currently, Crystal has a supporting lead role in 'Center Stage 2' as Lexi, and recently finished filming a lead role in the movie ‘Snow Demons' as Ashley for the Sci-Fi channel. Her most recent cameo appearances include ‘Good Luck Chuck’ (Jessica Alba) and ‘Fantastic Four 2’ (Jessica Alba). Crystal’s upcoming television appearances include a guest star role on 'Pysch' and 'Stargate Atlantis' and a recurring role in the new NBC series 'The Bionic Woman' as Jessica, Jaime's best friend.
As well as an actress and model, Crystal is quite the business savvy entrepreneur. She recently launched a new company called 'Sneeky Kiki Girlesque' and performed in the burlesque themed show 'Stocking up on Sugar'. Crystal is also a spokes-model for a wheel company, Konig; Sylvester Stallone's health product line Instone; Coors Light (Beer) and Imvasian (modeling/clothing/DVD line).
A multi-talented actress and model, Crystal’s career will continue to grow and her future looks incredibly promising.
